Novell has recently found a compatibility problem between the AppleShare RDEV in the Macintosh Chooser and third-party user-authentication methods, such as the NetWare UAM software in the NetWare for Macintosh v3.0 product. Apple is aware of the problem and will fix it in the next release of their system software. In the meantime, you must patch the AppleShare RDEV to use the NetWare UAM on servers with multiple volumes. The AppleShare Updater is an application that will patch the AppleShare RDEV to make it work correctly with the NetWare UAM. Without this patch a user will see crashes of the Macintosh client when multiple volumes are mounted.
